5 After 5, Favorite Movie Trilogies

At times, it seems like every movie that comes out turns into a trilogy.

Usually, they don't improve over time, but there are some that I think get better as the series goes on, or that I enjoy all 3 of.

Which would make your list?

It's time for another round of 5 After 5!  In case you missed it, last week's list was favorite podcasts and if you're new to this series, you can read more about it here - then catch up on all the old editions here.

Today I've got my list of 5 to share, as well as next week's topic for you to stew about over the upcoming days.

And this series is a link party, so be sure to scroll down and join in all the fun with us this week!

Favorite Movie Trilogies

I was pretty surprised when I sat down to make my list, because I ended up coming up with a lot more than 5 that I can say I enjoy.

Titles like Oh, God!, Center Stage, Beverly Hills Cop, The Godfather, The Matrix, The Love Bug (although, technically, there are 4 in this series), Lord of the Rings, Austin Powers and Die Hard (I didn't even know there was a 4th of these) are some that I can easily watch, but here are the five that top my list:

1.  Rush Hour

These movies are just so fun to me. I love the banter between these guys, they make me laugh so much!

2.  Lethal Weapon

Well, would you look at that? They made a #4 of this series, so I guess it doesn't really fit into this list like I'd thought, but I'm keeping it in here because in my mind, it's still a trilogy!

These were always fun to me, but #3 was especially fun, because we got to watch the implosion scene being filmed from my dad's office right next door -- I can still remember the glass wall bowing in when the explosives went off!

3.  Apple Dumpling Gang

Okay, so it turns out, this one only had two movies in the series -- I guess I'd had The Shakiest Gun in the West on my mind when I was thinking there were three.

But I kept it in here because I figured that when I added it in with the previous entry, they'd just even each other out to three apiece!

I'd forgotten about these movies until I sat down to think of this list, but they are just so silly! Now that I've remembered them, I'll have to introduce them to Gv soon...

4.  Back to the Future

I'm not a big fan of #2, but I like both numbers 1 and 3 so much, I forget about the pitfalls of 2.

5.  Ocean's 11/12/13

We actually just watched these right after we returned from our trip and I still don't know which one I like best -- I love them all!

For next week:

Favorite back-to-school items

What are the things you most like shopping for with your kids -- or which new back-to-school supplies did you most love getting when you were a kid?

I can't wait to see what your favorites are!

That's right, every post will be read, pinned and tweeted!

Every Saturday, just stop by one of our blogs to add your own list of five, then pop over and read as many other posts as you're able to each week - treat it like a true party and really mix it up and mingle with our fun little community!

The rules are simple:  just write your own list following the prompt each week (feel free to interpret it loosely - or in a unique way!), follow both of the hosts on the social media channel of your choice, and then get into the spirit of the party by grabbing your favorite beverage or snack and reading the lists of the other party-goers.
